There is cleaner air and less noise pollution at the old Crosby Street Pier thanks to the help of the Port of San Diego's Green Business Network.The Pier is home to the Pacific Tugboat Service. A major green renovation is helping save money and preserve the environment. Phoebe Chongchua of Live Fit Magazine shows us how cold ironing is providing vessels with shore power. This segment made possible by SDG&E, The Port of San Diego, and The Green Business Network. The Green Business Network is an integrated energy efficiency and sustainability effort spearheaded by the Port of San Diego and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). Members of the Network which include Port tenant restaurants, marinas, hotels and attractions all striving to reduce their environmental impact by taking advantage of free technical assistance, attending monthly training on green business tactics, and sharing best practices with fellow businesses.
